JOB SUMMARY

The ABA Specialist is responsible for implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) interventions for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at the Autism Center. The role focuses on conducting behavioral assessments, developing individualized behavioral intervention plans, implementing evidence-based ABA techniques, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the developmental progress of children with autism.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The ABA Specialist has the following responsibilities and duties:

·        Conduct behavioral assessments for children with autism spectrum disorder using appropriate and standardized tools.

·        Develop and implement individualized behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) based on ABA principles.

·        Provide structured behavioral therapy sessions using evidence-based ABA strategies.

·        Apply behavioral intervention techniques such as reinforcement strategies, task analysis, prompting, shaping, discrete trial training (DTT), and natural environment teaching (NET).

·        Collect and document behavioral data during therapy sessions and monitor the progress of children.

·        Analyze session data and adjust intervention strategies in coordination with the multidisciplinary team.

·        Participate in developing and reviewing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for children receiving services.

·        Collaborate with speech therapists, psychologists, special educators, and other specialists to ensure integrated care.

·        Provide guidance and practical training to parents on behavioral management techniques to support their children at home.

·        Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, behavioral assessments, and progress reports.

·        Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to case discussions and program development.

·        Adhere to ethical and professional standards in the practice of behavioral therapy.

·        Contribute to internal staff learning by sharing ABA practices and supporting team members when needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Should have the following skills, education, and experience:

·        A minimum of a Master’s degree in one of the following fields: Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Psychology, Special Education, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, a related field.

·        At least two years of experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

·        Good knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and behavioral intervention techniques.

·        Experience in conducting behavioral assessments and developing intervention plans.

·        Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data.

·        Strong communication skills with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

·        Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

·        Strong documentation and reporting skills.

·        High level of patience, empathy, and professionalism when working with children with special needs.

·        Good organizational and analytical skills.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
