JOB SUMMARY

The Information Management Officer is responsible for managing and improving information management systems, ensuring the quality, security, analysis, visualization, and timely reporting of program data to support effective program monitoring and decision-making.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.      Develop, maintain, and improve databases and information management systems using appropriate platforms such as Excel, Microsoft Access, SharePoint, and SQL.

2.      Develop and maintain digital data collection tools using KoboToolbox, XLSForm, Microsoft Forms, and other relevant platforms.

3.      Conduct data cleaning, validation, quality checks, and reconciliation to ensure data is accurate, complete, consistent, and timely.

4.      Merge, analyze, and visualize data using Excel, Power Query, and Power BI, and prepare dashboards, reports, tables, and charts according to program and management requirements.

5.      Organize, archive, and secure program data and ensure appropriate data protection, confidentiality, and access control.

6.      Provide technical support and training to data entry staff, data collectors, and program teams on data management, data collection tools, reporting, and data quality.

7.      Work closely with the MEAL and program teams to improve data workflows, standardize information management processes, and develop practical digital solutions and automation.

8.      Perform other information management-related tasks as requested by the MEAL Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in informatics engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  2. At least 2 years of professional experience in information management, data management, data analysis, databases, MEAL, or a related field. Experience in the humanitarian or health sector is an advantage.
  3. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and KoboToolbox/XLSForm.
  4. Good understanding of data quality, data protection, confidentiality, and secure data management principles.
  5. Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

ADDITIONAL / ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS

  1. Experience with Microsoft Access and SQL or other relational database systems.
  2. Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 for data storage, collaboration, and information management.
  3. Knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Azure, or other digital information management solutions.
  4. Good English language skills, both written and spoken.
