Job Title: Nutritionist

Job location: Syria - Idleb – Al-Dana PHC

Reports to: Medical Administrator

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

 The Nutritionist for Nutrition Team supports the Nutritionist and the team in providing nutrition interventions, during emergency situations. Their responsibilities include conducting assessments, distributing food, maintaining records, and providing training. Their role is crucial in addressing malnutrition during emergencies.

 

 

 MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Nutritionist for RRTs has the following responsibilities and duties:

1. Nutritional survey of children and pregnant and lactating women.

2. Detection of malnutrition cases in children under 5 years and pregnant and lactating women.

3. Admission of children or pregnant and lactating women to the malnutrition program, according to the condition of each one of them, after taking the MUAC measurement a second time after the community health factor.

4. Prescribing therapeutic or nutritional supplements or vitamins for children, pregnant and lactating women, after the advice of the attending physician.

5. Enhancing breastfeeding through individual and group sessions.

6. To be the leader in the group sessions and direct the team with him as needed, in addition to conducting complex individual sessions with the beneficiaries.

7. Leading IYCF campaigns in communities, providing advice, distributing brochures and vitamins, and referring patients to health centers or nutrition centers.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Should have the following skills, education, and experience:

1. University/institute degree in medical..

2. Four years of work experience in the field of nutrition, mobile team, and health education with non-governmental organizations.

3. Excellent computer skills, reporting and organizational skills and good time management.

4. Strong communication skills.

5. Good organizational and time management skills.

6. The ability to work under pressure.
