Area Level Travel Requirements: Up to 50% of the Working Time

JOB SUMMARY

The Programs Area Coordinator will serve as a primary management team member in terms of field supervision over the implemented health and nutrition interventions and external engagement with stakeholders to MedGlobal programs within (Northeast of Syria) covering governorates (Raqqa, Der Al Zour and Hasaka). S/he will work in close coordination with the Country Programs Manager, Area Programs Officers, Medical Commodities and technical team members as well as other staff of relevance within the MEAL/IM and Operations departments to ensure quality and timely planning and implementation of MedGlobal Health and Nutrition projects in (NES) to the organizational and donors standards.

 

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIEs

·        Actively participates in Go/No-Go meetings relevant to prospect funding opportunities.

·        Actively participate in the planning phase of the prospect projects.

·        Provides field level inputs into the proposal development process for the prospect funding opportunities.

·        Actively participate in the kick-off, progress review, and close-out meetings of the approved projects.

·        Coordinate with the Other Area Programs Coordinators and Officers, Technical Team Members, Medical Commodities Team, MEAL/IM, Operations and Programs Implementation Support Unit Team to ensure quality and timely implementation of the projects at the field level in line with the agreed-on plans and to the applicable organizational and donors standards.

·        Lead on the planning, coordination and execution of field visits to the supported facilities and sites of implementation.

·        Ensure day-to-day follow ups with the management of the supported facilities to help address their needs in a timely and quality manner.

·        Supports the provision and review of the implementation data (Patient records, Project Indicators ..etc.).

·        Serves as a primary provider of field level inputs into the quality and timely donor reporting process.

·        Actively participates in proper documentation and archiving of the implemented projects.

·        Actively participate in the process of needs identification at both field and governorate sector levels.

·        Undertake adequate and sound organizational representation at the governorate level sector meetings and workshops and participate in sector reporting practices.

·        Ensure high level of engagement with the directorate of health in terms of channeling updates, guidelines, priorities and work in collaboration with the Programs Team Members to address DoH inquiries and requests.

·        Participate in client responsiveness mechanisms and ensure timely handling of feedbacks of relevance to his/ her role.

·        Wherever relevant, participate in reviewing and updating of the applicable technical SoPs (Especially those related to the EHSP) and ensuring their adequate and timely roll out to the services providers of concern.

·        Wherever relevant, Participate in Reviewing and Updating the Quality Checklists to Meet the Applicable National and Organizational Standards.

·        Contribute to the facilitation and follow up of the medical missions made to healthcare facilities within the scope area of relevance.

·        Upon the request/ in coordination with the Programs Manager, participate in engagement efforts with institutional and individual donors as well as other external stakeholders to the organization programs.

·        Upon the request of the Programs Manager, support other Programs Area Units in undertaking their roles.

·        Supervise the Programs Area Officer/s and ensure provision of the support and guidance they need to undertake their roles.

·        Supports the Programs Department development efforts as guided by the Programs Manager.

·        Undertakes other duties assigned by the Country Programs Manager (<=10% of the working time).

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

·        Minimum NGO work experience of 3 years focused on health and nutrition projects office-setting and field management.

·        Familiarity with Health and Nutrition Programming.

·        Familiarity with Institutional Funding Mechanisms and Requirements is highly desired.

·        Awareness about the National Health System Governance and Funding Landscape.

·        Native Speaker of Arabic.

·        Fluency in English is highly desirable.

·        Medical Educational Background (bachelor’s in medicine or master’s in public health are highly desirable).

·        Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Application, Google Forms, and Kobo Toolbox Applications are Highly Desired.

·        Prioritization, Problem Solving, Negotiation, communication, and team management among other interpersonal skills.
