Job Title: MEAL Officer

Job location: Syria – Idleb, Sermda

Reports to: MEAL Coordinator

MedGlobal is a global humanitarian non-profit organization providing medical and health education services to people in need, including refugees and displaced persons, in disaster and underserved regions. The organization is composed of medical and public health professionals of diverse backgrounds.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the MEAL Officer is to support MEAL Coordinator to implement the MEAL plans and ensure implementation of robust system and to provide real time analytics to guide the quality of the program and implementation.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working under direct supervision of MEAL Coordinator:


-        Contribute to the development of the MEAL framework.

-        Contribute to the design and development of new tools as required (questionnaires, Satisfaction Survey, Pre-Post tests- Checklists…etc) which are needed to assess all projects aspects and measuring all planned indicators.

-        Contribute to building the capacity of the MEAL department.

-        Conduct field visits to monitor projects activities via observation and stakeholders’ interviews.

-        Maintain and compile a lesson learned database and share these lessons with the program team in timely manner.

-        Work with MEAL Coordinator to ensure MEAL Management Information System are used for all MEAL activities.

-        Contribute towards all MEAL reports including needs assessment.. etc.

-        Ensure compliance for all MEAL participants and beneficiaries of the projects in terms of data privacy, informed and signed consent and data protection.

-        Ensure all relevant MEAL inputs are collected according to specified means of verification in timely manner.

-        Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of MedGlobal’s CFM, ensuring it is accessible, transparent, and responsive.

-        Manage and document complaints and feedback, ensuring prompt response and resolution in coordination with relevant departments.

-        Analyze complaints and feedback data to provide insights for program improvement.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

should have the following skills, education, and experience:

-         Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, computer science, engineering, Development Studies, or a related

field.

-        Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accountability, MEAL, or related roles within the humanitarian

sector.

-        Knowledge of and demonstrated practical experience MEAL methodologies (particularly appropriate quantitative and qualitative research methods) data analyst and report writing.

-        Advanced skills with MS office and Power Bi.

-        Experience designing applications/forms with Kobo.

-        Experience in managing complaints and feedback mechanisms and engaging with affected populations.

-        Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and gather

community insights.

-        Ability to analyze feedback trends and produce reports for program improvement.

-        Ability to write a report with English.

-        Native Arabic speaker with intermediate English proficiency.
