JOB SUMMARY
The Case Management Worker will play a vital role in providing individualized support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. The role involves assessing needs, developing care plans, coordinating services, and ensuring follow-up to enhance the child’s development and family well-being. The Case Management Worker serves as a key liaison between families, therapists, educators, and community services.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The case management worker has the following responsibilities and duties:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments for children diagnosed with or suspected of having ASD and their families.
2. Develop individualized case management plans in coordination with multidisciplinary teams (therapists, , educators, etc.).
3. Coordinate and monitor the implementation of support services including therapy sessions, special education, and social support.
4. Provide psychosocial support and guidance to caregivers to help them manage the challenges of raising a child with special need.
5. Ensure proper documentation of all case-related activities in line with confidentiality and data protection standards.
6. Track progress of each case through regular follow-up and revise plans as necessary based on child and family needs.
7. Advocate for the child’s best interests and access to appropriate services (e.g., health, education, legal, protection).
8. Report challenges, risks, and protection concerns to supervisors in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Should have the following skills, education, and experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or related field.
2. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in case management or working with children with special needs, preferably in humanitarian settings.
3. Knowledge of autism and developmental disorders is essential.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in working with children and vulnerable families.
5. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
6. Familiarity with humanitarian principles and child protection standards.
