JOB SUMMARY
The PSW is responsible for Ensure a comprehensive assessment of the social needs of beneficiaries affected by the psychological impacts of the Mar Elias Church explosion and facilitate their connection to community services with the aim of supporting the psychosocial recovery pathways of affected individuals and families.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The PSW has the following responsibilities and duties:
1. Conduct comprehensive social assessments to identify the needs of beneficiaries and their families, with a focus on risk factors and protection concerns.
2. Provide direct social support to families and facilitate their access to essential services (such as healthcare, relief assistance, and legal protection).
3. Work closely with the psychologist and psychiatrist to develop integrated and individualized intervention plans.
4. Coordinate with local authorities, church institutions, and relevant community actors to ensure a multi-sectoral response.
5. Prepare regular reports including quantitative and qualitative indicators on cases and activities.
6. Fully adhere to principles of confidentiality and privacy and uphold professional ethics in social work practice.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Should have the following skills, education, and experience:
· A university degree in Social Work, Social Counseling, or a related field.
· A minimum of two years of professional experience in social work, particularly in emergency contexts or community-based settings.
· Good knowledge of local referral systems and available community services in Damascus and surrounding areas.
· Strong communication, assessment, and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
· Fluency in Arabic is required; proficiency in English will be considered an asset.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
