JOB SUMMARY

The special education facilitator is responsible for the Ddagnosis of the needs of children with disabilities or learning difficulties, designing and implementing individualized educational programs that meet those needs, and providing academic, behavioral, and social support within an inclusive educational environment that respects individual differences.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The special education facilitator has the following responsibilities and duties:


  • 1. Assess the child’s educational and developmental abilities using both standardized and non-standardized tools.
  • Prepare and develop an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Conduct individual or group rehabilitation sessions based on the objectives of the educational plan.
  • Use and adapt a variety of teaching strategies (visual, auditory, sensory) according to the type of disability.
  • Modify activities and adapt the environment to suit the child’s abilities.
  • Document academic, educational, and developmental progress through regular reports and systematic observations.
  • Support and guide teachers and facilitators in implementing effective educational strategies.
  • Collaborate with parents to implement programs at home and enhance the learning environment.
  • Develop and implement behavior modification plans when needed.
  • Participate in regular meetings and reviews of each child’s Individualized Education Plan.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Should have the following skills, education, and experience:

 

·        Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education or a related field (such as Classroom Teaching, Psychological Counseling, or Early Childhood Education).

·        Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children with various disabilities.

·        Familiarity with specialized curricula and the latest educational strategies.

·        Ability to work with educational assessment tools and psycho-educational tests.

·        Strong communication skills with children and their families.

·        Patience, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure.

·        Accurate educational analysis and documentation skills.

Ability to innovate in adapting educational programs
